Product Advantages

The primary use of povidone-iodine pad is to disinfect and sterilize the skin and mucous membranes, primarily through "wiping" or "moist dressing" methods. The operation is simple and has low irritation.

Core utility

Skin disinfection: For daily wounds (abrasions, cuts, bumps), skin preparation before injections/punctures, and antipruritic disinfection after insect bites.

Mucosal Disinfection: Oral mucosa (oral ulcers, minor gum abrasions), perianal/external genitalia (routine cleaning or adjunctive disinfection for mild inflammation), nasal mucosa (gentle disinfection after dryness or bleeding).

Surface disinfection: Temporary disinfection for small-area objects (such as phone screens, keys, thermometers, earrings, rings, and other small accessories), particularly suitable for use when going out.

Correct usage

Wound Disinfection: Remove the cotton pad and wipe in a single direction from the center of the wound outward to the surrounding skin (avoid back-and-forth wiping to prevent bacterial spread). Allow the area to air dry naturally without rinsing with water.

Before Injection/Puncture: Cover the puncture site with a cotton pad, press for 10-15 seconds to ensure the skin is fully saturated with iodine tincture, and proceed after it dries.

Mucosal disinfection: For mucosal areas such as the oral cavity and perianal region, gently apply a cotton pad for 1-2 minutes with light pressure to avoid mucosal damage. For sensitive areas, reduce the contact time.

Surface disinfection of objects: Wipe the surface evenly with a cotton pad, then leave it undisturbed for 3-5 minutes to allow the iodine solution to fully exert its bactericidal effect, without the need for additional wiping.

Precautions

Avoid contact with the eyes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.

Contraindicated for those allergic to iodine. A small test application on the back of the ear or inner forearm is recommended before use, and application should proceed only if no redness, swelling, or itching occurs.

After opening, the cotton pad must be used only once and cannot be reused to avoid cross-contamination.

If the wound becomes red, swollen, more painful, or starts to suppurate after disinfection, seek medical attention promptly.
