According to the location and nature of the injury, different bandaging methods are used, corresponding to different bandage usage methods. The following is a brief introduction to common bandage wrapping methods.

1.Circular bandaging method

Used for small or cylindrical parts of the limbs, such as hands, feet, wrists, and forehead, as well as for various initial bandaging procedures. When wrapping, roll the bandage upwards and hold it with your right hand. Unfold the bandage by about 8cm, fix the end of the bandage with your left thumb to the area to be wrapped, and wrap the area in a continuous circular shape with your right hand. The number of rolls should be determined according to your needs, and fix the end of the bandage with adhesive tape.

2.Spiral wrapping method

Used for areas with approximately equal circumference, such as the upper arm, fingers, etc.

Starting from the distal end, wrap two rolls in a circular shape first, and then wrap them in a 30°spiral shape towards the proximal end. Each roll overlaps with the previous roll of 213, and the end is fixed with adhesive tape. When there is a lack of bandages or temporary fixation clamps in emergency treatment, the snake shaped bandaging method is used where the bandages do not cover each other every week.

3.Spiral folding wrapping method

First, wrap the bandage around the injured limb of the patient in two circles to fix it, and then wrap the limb from bottom to top, turning back once for each wrapping. When turning back, hold down the center of the bandage, use the other hand to turn the bandage downwards, then wrap it backwards and tighten it.Cover 2/3 of the bandage from the previous circle and expose 1/3 during each circle. The bandage should be folded back to avoid the patient's wound as much as possible

4.The "8" character wrapping method

Used for bandaging and fixing clavicle fractures in joint areas such as shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, etc.

Taking the elbow joint as an example, first wrap 2 rolls in a circular shape in the middle of the joint. The bandage is wrapped above the joint, then wrapped below the joint on the flexed side, and then wrapped above the joint on the flexed side of the limb. This process is repeated in an "8" shape, with each roll overlapping 2/3 with the previous roll. Finally, wrap 2 rolls in a circular shape above the joint and fix them with adhesive tape.
